If your child drew flowers and plants develop his talent...
..He is a born gardener!

We have all learnt many things from the time we gave a meaningless stare from the cradle.

We have tried to understand at times or have been assumed to have understood other's worldly views.

" You bet he's gonna grow up to be a great investment banker."
" How do you say that?"
" Oh, He doesn't want to let go of anything that comes his way. Look at his grip on the toy."
" Oh, Shyam. I think you deserve a good night's sleep."

As one grows, so does the expectations of the near and dear ones.
Soon the "Investment Banker to be" changes his portfolio of interests and takes to the game of Cricket.

" Do you think he can be another Sachin?"
" Mmm... But he's a left hander. May be a Lara!"
The young Lara in the family finds too many Sachins,Pontings and Dravids around. And all of them are equally talented and have too many shots up their sleeves in taking guard for India.

The "Lara to be" suddenly discovers the  melodious Mohd. Rafi hiding under his breaking voice.

" Did you hear that?"
" What Shyam?"
" Listen, our kid is singing so beautifully in the bathroom."
"Oh, no. He can't make it big in music. It's too competitive."
" No..No.. He's got some unique voice. We need to only push him further."
"  Ok, we do that .Then what? The days of Kishore, Rafi or Mukesh is over. Nobody gets continuos opportunities these days. At the most he might end up a one song wonder."

" Shh. Here he comes. Let's  find out."
" Daddy.... I am so upset."
" Why dear?"
" Iam not able to sing like my classmate, Vinod."
" But.. we just heard. You were exactly like Rafi. You bet, you'll make it big in Bollywood."
" That was not me. I was playing Vinod's recording from my mobile."
"Oh! mmmm....... Ok, son, I have to rush for a meeting. But just warn Vinod. There's no future in music."

It was a revelation of sorts. Encouragement or pushing one towards success is often confined to the four walls within a house. The scent of talent from outside one's compound is no more than an unaccepted odour to many.

Young at hearts, dreaming of many a possibility needs the nurturing sans the bias. The new kid on the block is what everyone is looking for in life. Not everyone can be a MJ or a Steve Jobs. But not that everyone can't try to be.
People by and large are more afraid of failures than to put their best foot forward towards success.

No wonder,we are yet to change this phrase-

        Success has many fathers...
